How to Jailbreak firmware 2.2!IPod Touch/iPhone/3G!
Here's a tutorial on how to Jailbreak the new firmware 2.2.

People kept asking me where they could download firmware 2.2 for free so i decided to upload it. Here it is:

IMPORTANT: If you get your device stuck in the boot logo try restoring it again and in the second step of Quickpwn browse the 2.2 ipsw found by deafult(in windows) in:
C:\Documents and Settings\(Your username)\Application data\Apple Computer\iTunes\(iPod/iPhone) Software Updates
The file starts with iPod1,1_2.2 or iPhone 1,1_2.2 depending on the device

it works now, cydia is installed. Mine just takes really really long to reboot, now works like charm! thanks you the best!
same problem here, went through whole process and stuck at boot logo in the end. will restore it back to orginal firmware now
i tried to jailbreak it and eveything went good exept when it booted, the apple logo just freezez. i did it twice. what’s the problem?

Hey, its still not working, I made sure i used
C:\Documents and Settings\(Your username)\Application data\Apple Computer\iTunes\(iPod/iPhone) Software Updates and that it starts with ipod1,1_2.2 but it always seems to stop at the apple logo, what do you reccomend i do?
You need to correctly enter the .ipsw (2.2 firmware) file in the “Browse ipsw file” part of Quickpwn
Hey, ive tried jailbreaking it twice now and it freezes at the apple logo, and i cannot find a folder called application data, i really want to do this but it keeps freezing.
You can sync back your appstore apps but you’ll loose your cydia and installer apps.
What happens when you try to download it?

All you need to do is redownload quickpwn (either Mac or Windows).

restore your iPod and then rejailbreak it, make sure to browse the correct ipsw file.

i finished jailbreaking it and then a little window poped up saying it was installed incorrectly and it said install again..i pressed install again and then it restarted mi itouch and jailbreaker was gone and i cant download it again…what do i do?
Restore for what?Run Quickpwn and in the browse ipsw file you select the ipsw file of your 2.2 device it should start with iPod1,1_2.2 or iPhone 1,1_2.2 depending on the device
k, um i hav 2.2 firmware, and do i hav to restore my itouch, or does the quikpwn thing restore my itouch to jailbreak it?
Oh sorry there’s no Jailbreak for iPod Touch 2nd gen. yet. You should have told me that it was 2nd gen lol.

ok i figured out the shift and restore thing but i tried it and so it was extracting and stuff then when it sai preparing to restore it says unable to restore
